If you are building or renovating, this is worth a conversation early — it is much simpler to plan for power or charging access before the finishing work than afterwards.

Questions we’re asked most often

Can my existing blinds be motorized?

Usually the motor is built into the headrail, so a blind is replaced rather than converted. That means choosing the fabric and the motor together. If your existing blinds are still in good condition, we will tell you honestly whether it is worth changing them.

Do motorized blinds need Wi-Fi?

No. Basic remote operation does not need Wi-Fi or an internet connection at all. Wi-Fi or a smart-home hub is only relevant if you want app, scheduling or voice control.

What happens in a power outage?

Battery-operated systems carry on working normally. Mains-powered systems vary by product, and we will explain what happens with the specific system you are considering.

Are they much more expensive than manual blinds?

They cost more, because of the motor and the controls. How much more depends on the size of the window and the system chosen, so a consultation is the honest way to get you real numbers for your own windows rather than a vague range.

Which rooms are worth doing first?

Most customers start with the windows they cannot comfortably reach, or the room where the sun is hardest to manage. You do not have to motorize a whole house in one go — starting with two or three windows is common and works well.
