Choosing window coverings from a photograph or a showroom is the hardest way to do it. Fabric colour changes with your wall, your floor and the way light hits your window — and the sun on a west-facing window in July is not the light you see it in when you’re choosing. So we come to you, with samples, and look at your actual windows.

What happens at a consultation

We look at the rooms — how you use them, which windows cause the problems, where the light and the draughts actually are
We talk about what you need — privacy, light control, heat, ease of use, cord safety, or simply freshening up a room
We bring samples — real fabrics, held against your window and your wall, not a screen
We measure — at the same visit, so a quote doesn’t need a second appointment
We’re clear about budget — there’s no point showing you a fabric that doesn’t fit what you want to spend, and no pressure to decide on the spot
We leave a written quote — products, quantities and what’s included, so you can compare properly

Come prepared (or don’t)

It helps if you know roughly which rooms you want to do, and whether you’d rather do it all at once or a few windows at a time. Both are completely normal. It also helps to have thought about whether you want the same fabric throughout the house or different treatments room by room — neither is wrong, and plenty of houses do both.

If you have paint colours, flooring samples or fabric swatches for the room, have them out. It makes the decision faster.

How long it takes

A single room is quick — often under half an hour. A whole house with several window types, or a project where we’re working through options for builders or designers, takes longer. We won’t rush it, and we won’t sit in your kitchen for two hours if you’ve already decided.

Yes, with no obligation to buy. You get the measurements and the quote either way.

Do I have to decide on the day?

No, and we’d rather you didn’t. Take a day or two to look at the samples in different light, particularly if you’re choosing between similar fabrics.

Can you help if I only want one window done?

Of course. Plenty of our work is a single window that’s been annoying someone for years.
